D&R Outdoors
Welcome everyone to D&R Outdoors fishing YouTube Channel!
D&R Outdoors is Hosted by Daniel Holderbein and Co-Hosted by Ryan Richter.
We are all about fishing here! We mostly fish in the Okanagan, but we try to make a special trip every once in awhile with friends in the summer time.
We upload episodes the same week after filming them. We like to show types of bait and gear on camera for our viewers. Land, ice, and underwater footage along with bass and trout releases.
Climb aboard and join us as we catch fish and explore new places and lakes. Remember, safety is number one when fishing.
We'll see you here on our next adventure. Don't forget to subscribe, like and share our channel with friends and family.
Tight lines!
Host - Daniel Holderbein
Daniel has loved fishing ever since he was a little kid. His first trip was with his Uncle Steve to Whitestone Lake in Oroville, Washington, and that kicked off a love for fishing that’s never gone away. Since then, he’s spent years learning about different lures, lines, rods, and gear for catching bass, perch, trout, kokanee, and sockeye salmon.
Daniel is laid back, funny, and always laughing—usually at his own jokes. He’s known for his unique laugh that gets everyone else going, even if nothing was actually said. Sometimes all it takes is a funny look or a random thought and he’s off laughing, leaving everyone else wondering what’s so funny.
In 2018, Daniel and his friend Ryan launched their fishing show, The D&R Fish TV Show. A few years later, they changed the name to D&R Outdoors. You’ll see Daniel as the host, Ryan as the co-host, and their friends John, Thomas, and Rick as part of the crew. Climb aboard and come along for the adventure!
P.S. Daniel also loves photography, nature walks, birdwatching, and just about anything with an engine—rescue helicopters, fighter jets, jumbo jets, semi trucks (especially the Peterbilt 389 and Kenworth W900), and tow trucks. He’s also into mountain biking, hanging out with friends, and making memories that last.
Co-Host - Ryan Richter
Ryan is a very hard working man who always like to be kept busy and always on the go either he is cleaning and fixing things at Safari Beach Resort or doing conservation work with rattlesnakes at the Nkmip desert cultural centre.
"I'm a true outdoorsman I love to fish all year round and go hunting in the fall. Daniel is the one who got me back into fishing in 2017 and I haven't looked back been going on fishing adventures ever since. I have a great sense of humor to boot making everyone laugh and have a good time while we're fishing."
He is also into classic cars and a big Flames fan.
Rick - Crew Member
Rick and his wife Ruth met Daniel and his family back in 2007. Since then, Rick has become a great friend and mentor, teaching Daniel a ton about fishing over the years. He’s a wealth of knowledge when it comes to lures, bait, flies, casting rods, fly rods, fly line—you name it.
Rick’s not just a great fisherman—he’s also a character. He’s easy to get along with, and when you see him and Daniel together in an episode, something funny is almost guaranteed to happen.
P.S. Rick doesn’t always catch the big one… but neither does Daniel. It’s always back and forth between them when it comes to landing the biggest fish! Rick and Ruth are both huge supporters of D&R Outdoors, and we’re lucky to have them.
John - Crew Member
Daniel met John and his brother Thomas back in 2016 or 2017 at Home Building Centre. One day, Daniel asked, “Wanna go fishing?”—and at first, both brothers weren’t interested at all. But fast forward to now, and they’re always down to explore new lakes and go on adventures in B.C.
John loves taking nature and bird photos, and he’s also into cars and motorcycles. He helps out now and then by driving Daniel’s boat, and he brings a steady, calm vibe that balances out the crew—especially when Daniel and Thomas are being wild.
Thomas - Crew Member
Thomas is a hard-working guy who loves tow trucks and semi trucks. His favourites are the Peterbilt 389 and the Kenworth W900. After working at Home Building Centre for about eight years, he joined the local towing company, Collision Craft, in Osoyoos in August 2024. He loves the job and takes pride in what he does.
Thomas is always up for helping people and isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. Just a heads up: Thomas isn’t exactly “normal”—he’s a total nutcase when he’s hanging around John and Daniel. He and Daniel came out of the same pea field, and when they’re together, things get a little crazy (in the best way).
He’s also into photography, cars, motorcycles, and trucks. P.S. When the three of us hang out, John’s usually calm, cool, and collected… and Thomas and Daniel are definitely not. Laugh out loud!
